Catalina Foothills School District’s commitment to 21st Century Learning continues after school with Community Schools’ elementary programs. Afterschool enrichment opportunities include special activities and classes for students on early release days. Afterschool classes and camps extend into the later afternoon hours to broaden lifelong learning options for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Special programs through Community Schools serve as avenues for learning new skills and experiencing meaningful activities during school vacations and weekends.

Rocketry    Grades: 3-5      Fee: $135

In this class the students will learn the basic principles of flight and flight control systems as well as building their own balsa wood gliders.   NO CLASS 2/17

Dramatic Exploration with Drama Kids       Grades: K-5      Fee: $105

Students will harness the power of their imaginations as they explore many facets of drama, including improv, scene building, storytelling, and creative movement. They will develop valuable skills like collaboration, public speaking, self-confidence, and the ability to think quickly and creatively; that will help them both on and off the stage.

Color Me Mine.     Grades:  K-5.     Fee: $167

Every week the students will experience working with wood, ceramic and clay using both acrylic and water-based paints building on what they have learned the previous week to continue to improve their artistic skills.     NO CLASS 2/17

Instructional Chess (SEMESTER CLASS) - Tuesday 3:00 - 4:00pm     Grades: K-5     Fee: $171

No prior experience is needed. Chess has been proven to enhance academic achievement and is a skill that will last a lifetime. Instructor, Ken Larsen, is a competitive chess player and instructor.

Tournament Chess (SEMESTER CLASS) - Tuesday 4:00 - 5:00pm      Grades: K-5     Fee: $171

For the chess player who is interested in building skills in tournament play. Students build strategy and play games. Opportunities for optional weekend tournaments. Taught by instructor Ken Larsen.

KidStage presents The Lion King - Fridays     Grades: 2-5    Fee: $180

When the King of the Pride Lands goes missing, his son must find himself and learn how to protect his land and his people. Follow Simba, Nala, Timon, Pumba, and a colorful cast of animals as they confront the evil Scar and his mangy pack of hyenas in a battle to get their kingdom back. The participants will have a blast in this coming-of-age tale about what it means to believe in yourself, work together and trust in your friends.       Final Show, March 4th at 4:45pm

KidzArt - Tuesday       Grades: K-5   3:00 - 4:00pm         Fee: $215

A KidzArt certified instructor that will guide students through a different project each week. Students will learn how to break projects into simple steps, art terms and vocabulary, as well as experience and learn techniques for varying drawing mediums. Each week students will bring home a different masterpiece all their own. Our curriculum never repeats!

Little Chefs World: Cooking With Kids - Wednesday  Grades: K-5      Fee: $286

Little Chefs World teacher kids of all ages a variety of culinary skills by Madison Kakavas & Susan Kakavas, Founders and Owners of Little Chefs World since 2008, where cooking is our passion. We curate fun recipes for children in our classes as well as incorporate kitchen safety and hands on learning. Children create meals/desserts to share with their family and friends! What's included: cooking instruction, curated recipes (some seasonal), fresh ingredients, hands on learning, prepared meal or dessert each class. 8 week class - 1/5, 1/12, 1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/23, 3/2

PlayWell Legos - Jedi Engineering Strikes Back - Wednesdays     Grades: K-5     Fee: $215

This is the way! Get ready to embark on your LEGO journey as we defend the Wookies on Kashyyk, repair the Rebel shield generator on Hoth, and rescue Baby Yoda from Moff Gideon. come explore a galaxy far, far away with the help of an experienced Play-Well instructor and learn which "Force" is actually with us!

Skyhawk - Ninja Warrior K-2 - Fridays      Grades: K-2      Fee: $200

AGILITY/CROSSFIT/NINJA CLASSES! Skyhawks Sports Academy teaches young athletes the essential skills needed to perform a multitude of exercises. Each student learns proper body positioning, hand/arm/leg movements and jumping techniques. We offer children a positive sports experience while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

Skyhawk - Flag Football -   Mondays      Grades: K-5     Fee: $225

Skyhawks flag football is the perfect program for your young athletes who want a complete introduction to America's Game or for those who simply want to brush up on their skills in preparation for league play. Through our 'skill of the day' campers will learn skills on both sides of the ball including the core components of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning - all presented in a fun & positive environment. The week ends with the Skyhawks Sports Bowl, giving participants a chance to showcase their skills on the gridiron!

TGA Cheer - Mondays.      Grades: 3-5       Fee: $264

Discover how fun and exciting cheerleading can be! Coaches will lead students through drill and activities to build their skills in tumbling, stunting, choreography, motions, jumps and performance. Students will also partake in labs to explore concepts like gravity, balance and aerodynamics in cheerleading.

TGA Golf - Wednesdays     Grades: K-5      Fee: $293

Tee it up with Teach, Grow, Achieve (TGA), a national after-school sports enrichment program. TGA's five-level program brings the golf course to you. Have fun learning the techniques of golf! Great for beginners as well as experienced golfers.

TGA Tennis - Tuesdays, 3:00-4:00pm     Grades: K-2      Fee: $195

Serve it up with tennis class and discover how fun and exciting tennis can be with TGA! Coaches lead students through station-based drills and games that develop the fundamental skills of grip, forehand, backhand, volley, and serve.

TGA Tennis - Fridays     Grades: 3-5      Fee: $234
