Catalina Foothills School District’s commitment to 21st Century Learning continues after school with Community Schools’ elementary programs. Afterschool enrichment opportunities include special activities and classes for students on early release days. Afterschool classes and camps extend into the later afternoon hours to broaden lifelong learning options for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Special programs through Community Schools serve as avenues for learning new skills and experiencing meaningful activities during school vacations and weekends.

(NO EARLY RELEASE CLASS 10/28, 11/4, 11/11, 11/25)

 

Airplane Flight & Design Grades 3-5 Fee: $105

In this class the students will learn the basic principles of flight and flight control systems as well as building their own balsa wood gliders.

 

Crazy Critters Grades K-5  Fee: $95

Get up close with, and learn all about a new group of animals this quarter when Tucson Petting Zoo brings tortoises, rabbits, birds, bugs, etc. Take part in crafts and activities related to learning about these fascinating creatures!

 

Dramatic Exploration with Drama Kids Grades K-5 Fee: $86

Students will harness the power of their imaginations as they explore many facets of drama, including improv, scene building, storytelling, and creative movement. They will develop valuable skills like collaboration, public speaking, self-confidence, and the ability to think quickly and creatively; that will help them both on and off the stage.

 

TGA Tennis Grades K-5 Fee: $147

Serve it up with tennis class and discover how fun and exciting tennis can be with TGA! Coaches lead students through station-based drills and games that develop the fundamental skills of grip, forehand, backhand, volley, and serve.

3D Pearler Beads - Wednesdays Grades: 2-5 Fee: $101

3D Disney characters, a pokeball, a jewelry box, and a toucan are just some of the MANY things that can be made out of pearler beads! In this class children will choose the 3D design of their choice to work on weekly utilizing patterns, their patients and creativity to create something extraordinary! The 3D pearler bead patterns work like a 3D puzzle with each side of the structure designed to fit within each other. What will you make? The possibilities are endless! This is a process project class and most 3D projects will take multiple classes to complete.

 

Art Naturally - Perfect Pets - Fridays  Grades: 1-5 Fee: $229

Art Naturally enrichment classes are for the curiously creative child. This session we will discover the art and natural history of pets. Dogs were first domesticated by humans 30,000 years ago. Then came horses, cats, birds and rats…. Art lessons include a variety of materials including acrylic paints, watercolors, clay, oil pastels and more.

 

Arte Bella - Mondays Grades K-5 Fee: $192

We love to give the opportunity to students of all ages to get creative and bring out their inner artist! In Arte Bella we will teach you step by step techniques to grow as an artist and to create a masterpiece each week. You will even learn how to do POUR PAINTING!

 

Intramural - TGA Flag Football - Fridays Grades 3-5 Fee: $234

Kick it off with this modified version of America’s game that makes it fun and exciting to play with TGA! There is a strict no-contact rule to maintain all player’s safety. Coaches lead students through station-based drills and games that develop the fundamental skills of passing, catching, running, and defending. Students participate in STEAM labs that allow them to explore academic concepts like gravity, compression, and aerodynamics through the game.

 

KidStage presents ALADDIN - Mondays Grades 2-5 Fee: $200

Merida, a Scottish princess who enjoys archery and horseback riding, is told by her mother that her interests are not what a princess should be doing and that she has to marry. But Merida chooses to defy both her mother and tradition and change her fate. Merida follows the ancient forest wisps to seek help from an eccentric witch, who grants her an ill-fated wish. Now, Merida must discover the true meaning of courage and undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Please note: Kids must take the time outside of class to memorize lines.

Final show, October 5th at 5:30pm

 

KidzArt - Tuesday Grades K-5   3:00 - 4:00pm Fee: $149

A KidzArt certified instructor that will guide students through a different project each week. Students will learn how to break projects into simple steps, art terms and vocabulary, as well as experience and learn techniques for varying drawing mediums. Each week students will bring home a different masterpiece all their own. Our curriculum never repeats!

 

PlayWell Legos - Minecraft Engineering - Wednesdays Grades K-2 Fee: $150

Minecraft Engineering with LEGO® Materials Bring Minecraft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineer-designed projects such as a Creeper, a Lava Trap, and a Minecart. Create your favorite Minecraft mobs, tools, and objects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor.

 

PlayWell Legos - Minecraft Engineering - Wednesdays  Grades 3-5 Fee: $150

Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO® parts! Build an Iron Golem, the Nether Portal, and the Ender Dragon. Students will explore real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture while building their favorite Minecraft objects.

 

Skyhawk - Ninja Warrior K-2 - Fridays Grades K-2 Fee: $200

AGILITY/CROSSFIT/NINJA CLASSES! Skyhawks Sports Academy teaches young athletes the essential skills needed to perform a multitude of exercises. Each student learns proper body positioning, hand/arm/leg movements and jumping techniques. We offer children a positive sports experience while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle.

 

Skyhawk - Mini Hawk - Basketball, Soccer Track - Mondays Grades K-2 Fee: $225

This multi-sport program was developed to give children a positive first step into athletics. The essentials of basketball, track and field and soccer are taught in a safe, structured environment with lots of encouragement and a big focus on fun. Our Mini-Hawk games and activities were designed to allow campers to explore balance, movement, hand/eye coordination, and skill development at their own pace. Skyhawks staff are trained to handle the specific needs of young athletes.

 

Skyhawk - Mini Hawk - Basketball, Soccer Track - Mondays Grades 3-5 Fee: $225

Tee it up with Teach, Grow, Achieve (TGA), a national after-school sports enrichment program. TGA's five-level program brings the golf course to you. Have fun learning the techniques of golf! Great for beginners as well as experienced golfers.
