What is the District’s Open Enrollment Program?

Open enrollment is a state law that allows students to attend schools outside of their resident school if the receiving school has the capacity to accept them. Catalina Foothills School District (CFSD) residents who wish to attend a school other than their home area school must apply under the open enrollment program as well as non-resident families. Open November 1, 2017.

FIRST Lego League

Congratulations to all of the students who participated on FIRST LEGO LEAGUE teams this year. The FLL season and tournament require creative problem-solving, teamwork, and commitment. The teams have been working since the week of August 21st.

At the regional tournament on December 9, the 8 teams from our district won 4 awards including best research project, robot design, robot performance, and the 1st place Champions Award. Six of the teams will move on to state competition in January.

This year, our teams had the assistance of an outstanding group of high school mentors. These students were on FLL teams in past years and now come back to "give back" to a program that inspired their learning. Nik Gruber received the Youth Mentor Award for his exceptional time commitment and being a role model to 7 teams.
