Students can choose to join a school team, improve athletic skills, make new friends while learning something new or explore the great outdoors!

Intermediate Coding (Python)

 In this class, we will build on the introductory level Python programming concepts taught in Q1. The course engages students in creative problem solving and further develops computational thinking via games and animations. Prior understanding of the basic programming concepts of variables, taking user inputs, random, conditionals, and turtle basics is required to participate in this course. A computer or Chromebook with internet connectivity is required to join the course.

Personal Finance

Students will learn the importance of saving and budgeting and the difference between a debit card and a credit card. They will understand the importance of their choices for college and career and how debt can dramatically impact their
financial future. The students will be taught the difference between a checking account, savings account and an investment account and how they all play a role in their future financial success and wealth building. We will cover how to avoid
identity theft and much much more.

Textbooks and handouts can be picked up prior to club starting. 

 

 

Capoeria

Cool, flowing Capoeria, an Afro-Brazilian martial art/dance form, improves physical and mental strength and flexibility, encourages creativity, while increasing agility and confidence.  Anne Pollack is the only master-leel teacher of Afro-Brazilian arts & Capoeria in the state of Arizona.  Instructor Aiden Miller-Wells has trained capoeria for over 12 years.  In 2019, Anne and Aiden were honored with a Master-Apprentice award from the Southwest Folklife Alliance.  Great for beginners, yet new moves and music for experienced capoeria students. 

 

 

Improv

Improvisation is an unscripted form of theater where the participants come up with everything on the spot. Scenes go from funny to funnier, all spurred by the creativity of the performers. Join us as we go over the basic principles of improv, and learn how to think quickly and creatively for any situation! Students will participate in classic improv games played by professionals around the world.

Join us to design and produce a high quality yearbook for OGMS. As a yearbook staff member, you will be both a photographer and editor, responsible for taking a variety of photos both in and outside of the classroom and creating your own yearbook pages while meeting publishing deadlines in a timely manner. Note: Participants are expected to follow rules designed to ensure a positive and quality experience for all participants.

Acting Academy

TGA Golf

Creative Writing

Students will have the opportunity to share their writing and get feedback from peers and their teacher. STUDY HALL is a fee based option offered to students to do homework or quiet reading.

COST:  $7.50 per 1.5 hours per day

 

Signing up:  Sign up on the study hall calendar per day needed. The week will remain open until noon the day of, but same day registrations will result in a late/drop-in fee of $15 plus the class fee of $5/hour. 

 

LATE PICK-UP:  Please pick your student up by 4:15pm.  Students not picked up by 4:30pm will be charged a $2 per minute late pick-up fee. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW:

Completed Athletic Packets MUST be turned in to the Athletic Director prior to first day of practice. Students will not be allowed to practice without this paperwork turned in. Packets are available for download HERE, at the OG front office, or at our district office.

The first week of practice is MANDATORY. During this time, we are placing students on teams, doing concussion training and other safety information is being shared, and we encourage your attendance.

Grade checks will be performed mid-quarter. Students must have a passing grade in all classes to be eligible to play. Please see the Interscholastic/Intramural Sports Agreement in your Athletic Packet.
